2017 Bitterroot Valley Knap-in Report The new hosts of the Bitterroot Valley Knap-in - John, Sue and Eric Pearson along with Ed Wolff, Annie Rayner, and Gary Steele, upheld the tradition established by Richard and Joan Urata and conducted another outstanding event at the beautiful Larry Creek Group Campground in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana. This was one of the best attended knap-ins at Larry Creek – continuing the trend of the last 6 years. Perhaps it was the news that the Blue Grass Band that Sue Pearson plays with would be returning to entertain the knappers. And wow! – did they do a great job, even taking requests from the audience and inviting knapper musicians to join it! Of particular note were the terrific potluck dinners prepared by Sue Pearson with help from all the other co-hosts. They definitely raised the bar for Potlucks – which was already very high! Lest I forget! Stu Murdock and his various sous chefs prepared a ton of his famous fry bread! The variety of toppings – from jams and honey to sugar and cinnamon, made many of us overindulge!
